Props: Deciding

I have looked on amazon for some of the props which we will order for filming this sequence. We also looked at the guns that we will borrow from theatre.

Guns:

We looked at these two guns. The longer gun comes with fake bullets which look very realistic, we are planning on including a shot of the bodyguard loading the bullets into the all black long gun, but cut to him shooting Jason with the smaller pistol.

These guns we can borrow from therate in order to save money.

Signet rings:

These two styles of signet rings which we looked at on Amazon have this family crest on them. We will order two of the same gold rings for the bodyguard and the mafia boss.

Special Effects makeup:

I found this special effects makeup kit on amazon which we could order to use to make fake scars and fake gunshot wound.
It also includes a step by step tutorial to use the kit in order to make it look realistic.

Casting: Contacting actors

After deciding who we will be casting for our sequence, we emailed the actors and here is our evidence of contacting them and their responses.

Here is our email to Mike as we cast him to play the bodygaurd.

Here is our email to Dave as we casted him to play Jason. This is our email and his response.

Here is my email to Ted as we casted him as the final mafia boss.

Mood Board

In this task, I have made a google slides which portray my visual ideas of how our sequence will look. I have included tone, characters and the location using images from Pinterest.

the images i chose to convey the tone of the sequence are dark and hold a sense of mystery. I referenced to the series called 'The Night Manager' and 'The Bodyguard' as they include a similar theme. I have included the whiskey glass which the mafia boss will be holding along with his signet ring, sitting in his old liabry/office style set up. The one black leather glove is specific to the bodyguard along with the image of the gun in his belt. The car images emphasise our idea of using a Porsche in the sequence to show the power and wealth in which these men have.

This slide includes images to represent an idea as to what the characters would be dressed. The mafia boss will be wearing a pinstripe waistcoat and matching tie with a shirt, along with the images of a whiskey glass and signet ring. I have also included an image of a face scar which both the bodyguard and mafia boss will have, this can be done with makeup. Jason will be dressed with a hat and black suit as shown, I referenced an image from peaky blinders to give an idea as to the hat he could wear. The bodyguard will wear a pinstripe double breasted suit, with a signet ring, one black leather glove, a face scar and a gun. To portray this I used images from the bodyguard to give an idea of how he will look and present him self.

The location is going to be set outside Ewhurst boarding house as I have shown here. The office in which the mafia boss will be sitting is in this old, brown, dark leather office/library room. We can create this either on a set or inside of the boarding house. We chose this house as it is grand, big and dated as well which matches our theme and tone. I picked two images of a nice car, we are planning on using a Porsche to show that these business men are rich and powerful.

Casting

For our opening sequence, my group and I has casted teaches and A1 students to play the 3 characters.

Bodyguard:

Mike Niland - we are looking for a bigger built, over the age of 30, middle aged, Mike has a particular build and the right face features to fit into the role of being a bodyguard.

Jason:

Jake Pratt - We chose him due to how he can look in charge but also the victim in this sequence.

Boss:

To be the mafia boss we chose Ted Jackson, he fits our description of a big, strong built, intimidating man who can look powerful and in charge in this sequence.

Other options for the characters are as follows:

Body guards - Fahed Ghazzawi and Jonathan Germanos

Jason - Hugo Chieveley Bent, Dave Fonseka and Fedor Spekor

Boss - Mike Timson, Ivan Palcheka, Fabien Warriner and Dave Fonseka
